Journey details
Hotel pick-up and short drive to the Moon Valley to walk among dunes, canyons and mineral landscapes. Time for photos and interpretation from your guide. We end at Kari Viewpoint for a wide-angle sunset over the Atacama Basin, then return to San Pedro. Entrance fee not included; small shared group.
Itinerary
Pick-up: Hotel pick-up in San Pedro. Winter 14:00–14:30; Summer 15:30–16:00. Short drive (≈15–20 min) to the Cordillera de la Sal. Moon Valley Circuit: Walk among dunes, canyons and wind-carved rock while your guide interprets geology and history. Time for photos at key viewpoints. Stay on marked trails. Entrance fee is paid at the access. Kari Viewpoint Sunset: Short walk to the ridge for a wide-angle view over the Atacama Basin. Enjoy the color change at sunset and a relaxed return to town.
Recommendations for your trip
Sun protection (hat, SPF, sunglasses), 1 L of water, comfortable closed shoes, light jacket for evening breeze. Respect park rules and marked trails. Bring cash/card for the entrance fee (check current rates). Not recommended for drones; follow ranger instructions.
